Really friendly and accommodating owners. Really felt a personal service was given to us and they went the extra mile to make sure we had a great stay. Things to do nearby - hills! It’s a fantastic location for all of the hills in Glencoe or heading round the Oban road to catch some there like we did. It’s also very handy for hills further north near fort William.

I just love coming to this place. Claire was so lovely and has made some amazing changes since my last visit. Angela, it was so lovely to meet you and you are a credit to Claire. My room was amazing, fantastic new comfy bed and I had great views of the loch as well! Can't wait for next year to come back :)

Head to Glenfinnan viaduct (50 mins drive away) for 10am to get s space and watch the steam train cross over the bridge before 11am!

We had one of the lovely superior rooms on the ground floor - it is very tastefully decorated and comfy, and clearly they've put a lot of effort into making the whole premises COVID safe. The bar / lounge area is lush, it's wonderful to sit in there with a drink and a book, enjoying the views of Loch Linnhe. They have lots of whiskies and all the knowledge about them. They served dinner during our stay and the meals were absolutely lovely, proper homemade food. Breakfast is satisfactory. We had a lovely stay.

There's a lovely beach opposite the lodge. Black Isle Bar in Fort William is highly recommended. Good walks around Kinlochleven and of course Ben Nevis!

Clare the proprietor and her staff make you feel at home, the moment you walk through the door. All the Covid 19 regulations are in place and all guests staying at the hotel adhered to the instructions. This was our second stay and with the Covid regs, there are two seating times to choose from for breakfast 0800hrs or 0845hrs. The breakfast is excellent and is brought to your table, endless tea/coffee. The hotel offers a home cooked evening meal if required, and the cosy bar is well laid out for social distancing. Our bedroom was excellent and well laid out. The WIFI signal was great and there is wide choice of digital tv channels. We would certainly stay there again, as it’s ideally located to explore the Glen Coe area and North to Fort William.

Highly recommend the The Laroch Restaurant and Bar in the village of Ballachulish. Well worth doing the Glencoe Lochan Trail walk. Also the Inchree Falls walk.

This is really an exceptional place, which is run like a family home. The rooms are spotlessly clean and have all the amenities. The breakfast is all you need to start a day and the whisky bar in the lounge is well stocked up.

The guest house is located between Glencoe and Fort William. Buses are not very frequent, so check the timings. You can walk to Ballachulish or Inchree waterfall (or even Glencoe if you are a good walker).

Our 2 night stay couldn’t have been more perfect! Clare & the team went over & above to be helpful, taking our sodden walking gear to dry in their boiler room, moving us to a double rather than a twin bed room & helping with whisky recommendations! Coming back at the end of busy days hiking to sit in the lounge and relax with the most amazing view from the large picture windows was just wonderful! We chose full Scottish breakfast served in a fabulous dining room, all super Covid friendly, (everyone in the Lodge was super careful re their Covid precautions which was reassuring) Yes we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend, or return again. THANK YOU!

Very friendly staff who could not do enough for us. My wife has limited mobility and we were originally boked for an upstairs room but when we arrived Claire asked if we wanted a ground floor room.Meals were excelent especially the Chilli.Although I dont drink Scotch there was a latge selection to choose from, and a good selection of other alcoholic and nmon alcoholic drinks. Very satisfied with our stay.

Bring binoculors the views are terrific. Bring midgie repellant. Lots of outdoor activities, and good shopping in Fort William .

Get your walking boots on and go and explore. You can visit local waterfalls such as Inchree(5 minutes away)and Steall waterfall. The gondola up Ben Nevis is a must, something no one would ever forget. The peak shows a wonderful panoramic view of Fort William. Also take time to admire the talented mountain bikers who ride the natural and professional track of Ben Nevis. The home cooked food at the lodge is wonderful and fresh and made to order, but if you fancy a meal out have a look in the local area prior to coming, book in advance. Our recommendations are The Old Inn (20 minutes away) which does fantastic and highly recommended Steak, plus The Laroch (5 minutes away) which is the local pub. There are many places to go to throughout your stay this may include, Oban (only 1 hour away), which has plenty of fantastic harbour food. Skye, which has tones of unimaginable views and is only a 30 minute ferry crossing from Oban (book online in advance), also try the local chippies in Skye and also Mull, it will be the freshest fish you will have ever tasted. Enjoy your stay. You won't be disappointed! We're coming back 100%!

Claire, Angela and the other staff are very friendly and helpful. The lodge is wonderful, with an amazing bar and loch view. Breakfast was very tasty, and lovely bar meals could be ordered if we didn't want to go back out in the evenings. The rooms were spotlessly clean, the bed was very comfortable and our room had the most wonderful views of the loch. We were very lucky with the weather, with warm sunshine for the whole week. One of our favourite holidays, that has left us with very fond memories.

Claire's meals are excellent, but we also ate at The Lodge on the Loch, (6 mins walk) and The Ballachulish Hotel (30 mins walk, over the bridge). We didn't eat at the Onich Hotel (18-20 mins walk) but we had drinks on the decking, overlooking Loch Linnhe. The cafe at the visitor centre (also a shop) in South Ballachulish over the bridge, does good lunches and it's close to the start of the Brecklet Trail walk. The Jacobite steam railway is definitely worth the money (Fort William to Mallaig return) but book in advance as it books up quickly. Oban is worth a visit, although the distillery was closed due to Covid. We did some lovely walks - Inchree Waterfalls, The Brecklet Trail and Corpach Basin to Neptune's Staircase (8 consecutive locks on the Caledonian Canal). If you time it right you can see the Jacobite go past. Glencoe village is really pretty and there are short walks from there too. Glenfinnan Viaduct is impressive and you can see the Jacobite go past from various view points (the viaduct used for filming Harry Potter). It also has a visitor centre and a monument to the Jacobite rising. It's a beautiful area to explore!

A truly wonderful stay. The ladies could not have been more friendly or helpful. The bedroom was spot on in terms of cleanliness and comfort. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and catered for vegans and gluten intolerant folk as well. Can't rate Creag Mhor Lodge more highly. Will defo be coming back.

A perfect place to stay and enjoy the true hospitality of Scottish people. Glen Coe is a short drive down the road which is perfect for Munro baggers. Great food at the lodge itself or a short walk away

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Creag Mhor Lodge. We were made to feel most welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were spotlessly clean and a nice size as well as the bathroom. We had a lovely stay at Creag Mhor Lodge. The welcome and service was excellent and the team went beyond expectation with their support to a recent injury I had acquired. The house itself is gorgeous inside and out with a wonderful spacious lounge area and beautiful large and comfortable bedrooms. The views from the house are just spectacular! Given the recent global pandemic, the team have made adjustments to the lodge and processes to provide enhanced safety without losing any comfort or quality of your stay. Fabulous location and even better team. We stayed as a family of five and couldn’t ask for more. Clare and the team were amazing and made our holiday even more special. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending the lodge to anyone who wanted to experience the beauty of the area and real Scottish hospitality.

We visited the local area, Oban, Arisaig and Ben Nevis. Clare and the team all helped with recommendations and place to visit. This gave us an excellent experience. There is so much to see that we will definitely be back to the lodge soon.

Thank you for the lovely stay at Creag Mhor Lodge. The room upgrade was very kind of yous to do - and the view from the room was stunning. Id reccommemd booking a room with a loch view, it is worth it. The food was very good and served at convient times. We ate both breakfast and bar meals in the evening. Thank you for going out your way to accomodate my vegetarian friend. Overall, the servuce we recieved was great and everyone was so friendly - it really made our trip. Thanks for being so kind and helpful.

We were told to visit the inchree waterfalls, which was near by to the B&B. There is a car park at it if you have a car. It is a short walk to see the waterfall but it is very nice and worth to see since so close to the place. I'd also suggest making a visit to it while you stay at Creag Mhor Lodge.

Beautiful location, lovely cosy rooms and bar area with a great whisky selection, excellent breakfast and bar meals. Claire and Angela really looked after us and were an invaluable source of information on the local area and where to go, the local knowledge was just the sort of personal touch that sets Creag Mhor apart.

Very central location for Ben Nevis, Glencoe and a perfect base for travelling further afield around the Highlands, not just the mountains but the beautiful silver sand beaches of the west highlands including Camasdarach beach from the movie Local Hero are reachable from Creag Mhor.

Sadly we were only able to spend 1 night at the Creag Mhor, but we will DEFINITELY return. Our room was amazing and the location was unbelievable. Directly on the Loch with an amazing view, the location left nothing to be desired. It's close enough to towns that you don't feel totally isolated, but removed enough to feel like you're retreating when you come in for the day. Unfortunately I can't remember the owners name but she was very kind and welcoming. Tons of tips and suggestions for places to go, eat and explore. She was very accommodating for us. Even though we had to leave before breakfast, she packed us a to go bag with snacks and such. Very hospitable. Highly Recommend!

We did dinner at the Ben Nevis Inn. A little bit of a drive but completely worth it! The food and staff were amazing, and it's located in an old barn nestled beneath Ben Nevis! We hiked the North Face of Ben Nevis trail and would definitely recommend the views were absolutely breath taking! Take it easy on the road in to the parking lot. Some serious potholes there!

Allow time to relax in the lounge by the fire. It is a fantastic and cozy place with fantastic staff who make you feel right at home. If you like hiking get advice from the staff about where to park for the Steall Falls hike. It’s a beautiful trail. Stay at this lodge if you are able to get a booking. It will be a highlight of your trip to Glen Coe!

We always try to stay here. We have tried a lot of different B&Bs in the area and this is by far the best. Staff always lovely. We stayed in a 5 star hotel recently that was trying hard but really creag mhor was better in all sorts of little ways.

Book early and pay extra for the rooms at the front. They are huge with magnificent views. If you don't manage to get one there is a lounge/bar downstairs with lovely views to sit in.

The hotel is lovely, a typical house with beautiful and unique views of the lake, the rooms are spacious and comfortable and very clean as well. It has a beautiful bar with lots of whiskeys where you can enjoy your driek quietly sitting on your chester sofa. It’s an amazing B&B superb view and very boutique. Loved the lounge and bar as well cost and class excellent staff and service. Served a good spread of breakfast as well. Would definitely recommend this for couple and family.

Nice restaurant next to this one called the sea and salt. Also very close to fort William and lovey location and view, if you of course take the superior room with view.

Great location, accompanied our family of 7 in 2 rooms. Exudes old charm, and a fantastic breakfast. We enjoyed the small bar and real fire in the entry parlor. Extremely quiet, great view of the Loch to wake up to our our window. The owner Claire was very accommodating and caring. We would definitely recommend this lodge. We ate dinner in Fort Williams which is just down the road.

Don’t miss walking the beach across the street from Lodge, the view is beautiful. Fort Williams is a great little town to visit. We loved the “ Harry Potter Bridge” just out of Fort Williams. Beautiful Old lodge across the road you can park walk to bridge and have tea or lunch.

2nd July 2019:

From the moment we arrived, Clare made the 3 of us feel very welcome. That continued throughout our all too short stay. The whisky bar/ lounge area are very comfortable and the view is breathtaking. Clare, ably assisted by Mary were very attentive and called us by out names from the moment we arrived until our departure. Range of whiskies is extremely impressive. Breakfast was excellent with a very wide selection of hot and cold items. My cousins from Canada were blown away by the location and service. So much so that they are going to ask their travel agent in New Brunswick to put Creag Mhor on their list of must see places in Scotland. 3 more Canadian cousins are coming over next summer and we'll be back then.

Only tip I have is, stay more than 1 night.

Very lovely lodge with a beautiful lounge area overlooking the lake across the road. Our room was comfortable, tastefully decorated and clean. Staff was very helpful.

We only stayed one night as we were travelling westward, but would stay longer if returning to the area. Staff recommended the Lochleven Seafood Cafe a few miles away. Our dinner there was wonderful!

A beautiful old Manor House with original features including a creaky staircase, loved it! Lovely big room with fabulous views across the loch to the mountains. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom Had a large shower enclosure. Not too keen on the opaque glass on the bathroom door though, bit more privacy would be better, in my opinion. A good selection of tea and coffee were supplied along with some biscuits, a nice little touch for guests. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice from cereals to typical Scottish cooked food. Staff were very attentive and helpful. There is a huge sitting room and bar area, very welcoming and somewhere to meet with other guests. A special mention to the owner, Clare, so friendly and warm, always on hand and nothing was too much trouble for her. Really made for an excellent stay. It’s about 10 mile drive into Fort William itself where there are lots of restaurants and shops. We were very unlucky with the weather, constant rain, so didn’t walk around the town for long. We would definitely recommend the hotel.

We were booked on the Jacobean Train to Mallaig. It’s costly and we found we could have got the normal train for much less money. First class seats were very comfy but view is obscured a lot by trees along the route. Stunning scenery otherwise. We found a beautiful restaurant in the Crafts & Things gift shop and tea room, just outside Glencoe village, about five minutes from the hotel. Lovely food, and the staff were so friendly. Well worth a visit even just to look at the array of gifts available.

Spacious clean rooms. Comfortable lounge where we enjoyed cheese and fruit plate since ready to relax after full day of driving. Full Scottish breakfasts provided by very attentive staff. Good recommendations for restaurants and activities.

Had planned to go to Mull for day trip, but stayed in Glencoe because of the rain. Great hike to Steall Falls, both lower and upper hikes. Glencoe Wood Nature Preserve - very nice scenic trails around the lake. Enjoyed meal at Sea Salt Café just down the road.

The room was beautifully decorated and the shower had great water pressure (something important to me). Claire was welcoming and utterly friendly put me at ease instantly. Claire is very informative. I loved my room and could sit in the lounge for hours reading and looking at the view for hours ! Will definitely be back if ever I’m back in Scotland.

This was a gift from our son and daughter a 3 night break. It was one of the best gifts we have had. We loved this place and would love to come again. Our bedroom was huge with beautiful views of the loch. Very clean and a beautiful bathroom. There was a sitting area so we could enjoy the view in a morning while having a cup of tea. The breakfast was amazing, lots of choice. We enjoyed the living area. Very comfortable and a friendly atmosphere. Snacks available were very nice and reasonably priced. We loved every minute. Thank you claire and team.

We came for the Jacobite train experience as I’m a massive Harry Potter fan. This was brilliant. Fish and chips in Mallaig were expensive though. 12 pounds!! We loved Loch Ness. The boat trip is a must. Lovely cafes here too. We tended to eat at lunchtime at cafes and have a snack at hotel when we got back so can’t recommend anywhere for evening meal.

The Creag Mhor Lodge was our favorite of the 4 hotels we stayed in on a recent visit to Scotland. The Lodge is beautiful with spectacular views. It was spotlessly clean! Clare and her staff were warm and welcoming. We enjoyed great company and good whisky by the fire. Breakfast was delicious! We would absolutely recommend this beautiful inn and look forward to returning ourselves!

Glencoe is incredibly beautiful. We enjoyed a delicious dinner at Loch Leven Seafood.

There isnt really much in the way of restaurants in the area, but the "bar food" offered in the lounge is really rather substantial and they will also allow you to bring your own food if you are looking for a little picnic with a wonderful view.

One word, superb !! Fantastic location, amazing views and so peaceful,awesome welcome and so friendly, our room and the facilities were perfect and the breakfast was out of this world. Nothing was too much trouble, we were made to feel more like friends than guests, we can't wait to go back later in the year.

I have already told the Scottish Travel Society about Creag Mhor Lodge, and highly recommended it to them. We loved the fact that although the Lodge is old, and has the original beautiful wood floors and trim, you also have modern facilities. Clare the owner/operator, is a wonderful hostess, and her staff are all very friendly, and you can tell they love what they are doing. Over all, we really enjoyed our visit, and if we ever come back this way, we will not hesitate to stay at the Lodge again

We were only there for one night, and just ate at the Lodge, but we found the meals to be absolutely delicious. The next morning we were on our way over to Inverness, so didn’t have anytime for sightseeing around the area. Clare is very knowledgeable about the area, and will suggest possible side trips, and things to see and do
