Lovely to see Ian and Valerie again. We had a warm welcome even though we were soaked through. Once again some beautiful home baked cakes from Valerie in our room, and a fantastic cooked breakfast in the morning which was provided at 7.30am as we were off early that day. They really are lovely hosts and the room is extremely comfortable, warm and a great shower. Many thanks.

Owner had good knowledge of the area and good knowledge of the event we were visiting. I felt it was slightly expensive at £78 for one night. Breakfast was excellent though.

Ian and Valerie were very welcoming. Ian’s local knowledge is extensive and he whipped out his iPad at every opportunity and showed granddaughter pictures of Ben Nevis and deer. The accommodation was modern and up to date but it was those extra touches that made it special. We were just sorry we didn’t have the opportunity to sit out in the sun at the front of the house. Valerie’s homemade shortbread is amazing - and we scoffed the lot!

Had a lovely 6 day stay at Minaig. Ian and Valerie were perfect hosts, very friendly and chatty and nothing was too much trouble. Went off in the morning with Valerie's wonderful cooked breakfasts and returned back to find home baked cookies for us in our room. Superb position with uninterrupted views over the loch and a pleasant walk along the loch into Fort William. Very dog friendly, Dexter enjoyed his stay with you as well. Thank you both very much.

Tips:

Very central for many places to go, Isle of Skye via the Glenelg Ferry, Glenfinnan Viaduct (Harry Potter fame) Oban to mention a few. A trip on the cable car to the top of Ben Nevis is worthwhile. Many restaurants to choose in Fort William. The restaurant at the Corran Ferry is worth a visit.

31st May 2017:

A warm welcome from Ian and Valerie. Delicious cake and shortbread in our room. Immaculate white bedding and towels. Excellent breakfasts. A very good place to stay three nights. Highlight was seeing the pinemarten that lives just beyond their woodland garden. Would certainly return.

Tips:

Mountain gondola at Annoch Mor 7miles north of Fort William. Glen Nevis walking and the Steall Falls but do wear walking boots and be prepared to walk about 45 minutes to get to it. Jacobite train to Mallaig followed by mussels in one of the pubs there.

Thank you to Ian and Valerie for a lovely stay in Fort William. They were warm gracious hosts! And the double room with two single beds suited my mom andnI perfectly. Amazing value for the pound. The full english breakfast was worth it alone. You can tell by the small touches that Ian and Valerie have been in the hotel business for many years. We arrived on my birthday and found a lovely birthday card waiting. Ian and Valerie had conspired with my husband. So thoughtful! Minaig is highly recommended! Cheers, Jan and Sharon Damery

Very welcoming, experienced couple who made us feel at home straight away. A genuine highland welcome including a wealth of knowledge of the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will recommend to others.

Tips:

We enjoy hidden history so found Old Inverlochy Castle a great delight and the remains of the Old Fort in the town. A great place for snacks or coffee and the most delicious cake is out at Lochaber Farm Shop on the way to Aonach Mor. We enjoyed a visit to the West Highland Museum in the town, where the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The Jacobite Railway trip to Mallaig and back was well worth the visit.

1st June 2015:

Just a superb b&b made more delightful by the warm welcome and attention from Val and Ian. I could have taken them both home with me they are a wonderful couple who know how to take care of their guests. Our room was beautiful, clean and Val had included coasters in our room from New Zealand to make us feel at home. Val's home baking which she leaves in the room each morning is delicious and it is these details that make you feel welcome and valued. Breakfast is superb and Ian is an attentive 'waiter' making sure our breakfast experience was delightful. We stayed an extra night we loved being there that much. Thank you Val and Ian, you made our trip to Fort William extra special and the advice on restaurants and things to see were spot on. We will stay again in the future and recommended you to other tourists we met along the way. Thank you thank you and I hope you are feeling well now Ian and that Val you are getting plenty of time to knit to your hearts content. Thank you guys x

Great place to stay. Very clean and great location. Only comment - no common area where people could hang out instead of being crammed in your bedroom.

Lovely hosts, beautiful location, comfortable bed, delicious breakfast.

Tips:

We stayed there and went skiing on the Nevis range which is a about a 20 minute drive away. It's not too far from the town centre, we walked one of the evenings and had some lovely meals! There's a large supermarket in town too which is handy if you've forgotten anything!

We had a wonderful stay at MInaig. Very friendly hostess and host, Valerie and Ian who provided us with excellent breakfast, useful information and of course the freshly baked cakes in our room. It´s about 20minute-pleasant walk along the shore to the town centre. The location is perfect, we had a wonderful evening sitting at the patio, watching the sun setting over the lake.
